North Star 60-bed Residential Psychiatric Treatment Center Anchorage
For a private client, Livingston Slone designed this fast-track, Design/Assist project. The 50,000 SF new psychiatric residential treatment facility serves a client/patient population of children, ages 7-17.
The facility features an indoor gymnasium, classrooms and life-skills training rooms as well as a medical treatment center, staff facilities, multi-purpose rooms and administrative offices. The living areas are designed to provide a homelike but secure atmosphere for children with behavioral problems.
The building is connected to the NorthStar hospital via a skybridge. Livingston Slone designed renovations to the existing hospital to accommodate the new residential treatment center. Livingston Slone assisted the Owner in selecting a Construction Contractor to work with the design team during the final design to provide value engineering and scheduling services.
Livingston Slone also led the Programming, Site Master-Planning and facility Schematic Design phases directly through Design Development and Construction Documents as well as Construction Administration for a 20-Bed Residential Psychiatric Treatment Center (RPTC), in Palmer, Alaska for the same client. |
